Trying to settle modules

One thing about Oulun Yliopisto (University of Oulu) is that it's really free and easy and there is not any module registration of any sort(only exam registration). But that necessarily means, to a Singaporean not used to this kind of free-and-easy thing, that we can frigging decide that we do not want to study for a course (yes, they don't use the word module for some reason; a module is another thing all together for the Finnish) and not want to take the exam. AT THE LAST MINUTE.

Of course, I have to take at least 5 modules, so that when I go back for my final year in NUS, I won't be the one crying HELP ME! while the rest of my friends are relaxing.

I will try to take at least 3 EE mods here, one Survival Finnish course (Minä olen Clarence. Hauska tutustua!), and the mapping for Human Resource Management(which is a compulsory course in NUS engineering, for some reason.) But I am thinking about whether I should take another EE module and overload myself here since it's only on pass/fail basis. The thing is, I have to be very hardworking and read all the shietty textbooks myself, since the courses are conducted in *gasp* Finnish. And my Finnish is really limited to "Hi, bye, Have a good day, mate" and stuff like that, definitely not high-level enough to read Finnish engineering textbooks where they have stuff like

Mahdollisen ylivuotobitin voit unohtaa.
a) täydennä taulukkoon B1:n ja B0:n arvot (0,5 p)

How the f**k can I read this? (OK, the only thing I know is that this is a multiple choice question!)
I bet you my balls that you can't read it either. (unless U are some evil Finnish guy, and I'll slap the balls off you instead!)

So luckily, my kind professor who is lecturing for the module gives us a readable textbook in ENGLISH (oh thank God!) and that is the beginning of Hell. Started reading the first crappy chapter yesterday till my eyes dropped shut.

Then there was the evil assistant who made us have to take the exam when the professor offered to let us just do exercises and pass the module instead of having to take a final exam. SO we (WL and me) went back to the prof today to "complain" (complaining being the national pastime of Singaporeans) and negotiate with him (negotiating being a very important skill for the Singapore government*). So now, for this particular module, we have to do exercises and do a private exam in front of the prof (can it get anymore stressful than this? Well, at least it's better than doing an exam on 10th of Feb!).

Tervetuloa (welcome to) Hell!

P.S.: Finns are nice people. It's just that some of them are sex-deprived and they want to deprive others of happiness as well. Then again, not all sex-deprived people are nasty people. Well, at least I think I am not.

*Negotiate with Malaysian government for more water at 1965 prices, negotiate for airspace over other countries, this that everything. PAP rawks!
