Helsinki with CJ and company (10/4 and 11/4)

Will update this post with more pics when I get them from CJ.

Went round Helsinki for I-don't-know-how-many-times-already with CJ and his friends from Sweden. I had the pleasant company of Christina (from Romania) and Cherry (from Mech. Engineering, NUS).

We toured the city centre for just a bit, since CJ didn't want to do any shopping. Then of course we visited churches and museums (but didn't enter any museums), and did a spot of phototaking. Below are the photos that I still had in my camera after the Russia trip. (I had to delete a few cos I thought I needed more space in my camera for Russia sightseeing, but it turned out that I didn't need to in the end.)

In the White Church.

Inside the White Church with Cherry and Christina behind me.

Outside the White Church. Now you know why it's called the White Church =P The Temple Church or what we know as the underground Church. Distinctly different from any other churches I have visited, because of the rock walls which "decorate" the interior. (CJ praying that he will pass all his other modules. He's praying for me too, I know.)

Then the next day we went to the Suomenlinna Sea Fortress. It's one of UNESCO's heritage sites and is Scandinavia's largest sea fortress. It was built by Sweden to protect Finland from any attack (when Finland was still part of Sweden), but when met with a possible attack, it was given up without any resistance. I can't believe anyone would be so dumb. Maybe they were thinking long-term, to create a heritage site for the future generations. LOL!

Most of the pictures are with CJ, so I have to wait for him to come back from his trip-to-don't know-where. Anyway, I have a few pictures.

One of many sea walls surrounding the Suomenlinna fortress. You also have to see their many cannons pointing out to sea. Need to wait for CJ to come back. EH COME BACK LA CJ!
CJ wants to try ice swimming. "Need my helping hand to push you down right?"
CJ's down there. I have to go help him up. WAHAHAHAHA!

Later after the Suomenlinna trip, we did a spot of window shopping. And as CJ correctly pointed out, if you have no money to buy, you can still take pictures! So these trolls from Norway are also found in Helsinki! W00t!

Happy trolls. How can you not smile when you see them?
