Last post in Oulu (I think)

UPDATE: Goodbye my friends in Oulu, hope to see you all again, some place some time.

Moro kaikki! Hauska tavata!

Packing my bags... I realized I got quite a lot of space, cos I'll be throwing away some stuff and giving other (still useful) stuff away. Hmmm.. now dunno what to send back by parcel. I'll figure it out soon, cos I got to send it by Tuesday (today!). Moving on to my next phase in Europe.. as a tourist traveller!

A quick update on my life for the past few days. Been shuttling from home to school to try to finish my project, busy flitting from professor to professor (really hate that part), mugging in library with Lucie, Stefania and Kathy. Then of course highlight of the week was the visit to Eden spa at Nallikari Beach. It was amazing! There were indoor pools (duh!) and an outdoor one which we could sit, chill and tan in the sun. And there was also sauna (duh!), Turkish steam bath and the Roman bath as well! All for 8 euros (ok a little steep I guess, but well, it's my last chance anyway) and coming out of the place, feeling squeaky clean (hehe no need to bathe for the next month already =P)

So as expected, the project couldn't be completed on time. I can't really blame myself cos I've been trying very hard to finish it, but every time I went to the assistant, there'd be some error I'd overlooked. ARGH. I'll try to look at the logic and design again, but I think it's pretty much up to my partner (Ms Tan!) to make it right if we don't want to go back to Singapore to look at it again.

Packing my backpack is a headache cos now it seems too empty. Hmm.. I'll find some more stuff to put in to make it fuller and more "backpack-like". LOL.

Poland beckons... (for more details, click here) I know I should be excited about and all, but well, I'm still not really stirred up. Suffice to say I'm still quite sorry and reluctant about leaving Oulu (I've been repeating too many times!) and well, I guess my feelings will pick up after some time. After all, life has its stages and I wouldn't dwell too much on one phase of my life. After all, I will not know too many people on the Poland trip and it's time to make new friends!

I'll post on my blog (some short snippets) even when I'm touring the cities mentioned below if I can get internet access. So do look out here!

Tomorrow (or rather today) I'll go around saying my goodbyes to those people I've been with for the past 4 or 5 months. There's also an ESN farewell party for the exchange students at night -> great timing LOL! Most exchange students are leaving at the end of this month and there are also some leaving next month, leaving a few to stay on till July, August or September. I heard mosquitoes will start invading Finland soon, so it's a relief to go away soon HAHAHA! The rubbish dump's also starting to smell quite bad (in winter, no flies and no smell) and that's one of the bad things about spring and summer.

Anyway I'm getting a little tanned cos I'm eating lunch outside, with the sunshine-deprived Europeans, who get all yippy-yappy about the sun. Singaporeans back home, don't start laughing and giggling, cos there is a serious lack of sun in this cold and dark place which has winter for about half the year. You would do that too if you had no sun for the past 4 to 5 months, at least not decent sunshine. And even there was, it'd be too cold to be suntanning. (-20degC is seriously no joke.)

OK shan't be too yakky. If there's anything that I should know, please send emails to my NUS account (clarencekhoo@nus.edu.sg -> should be the email that I check most often) or leave a tag on my board (I've purposely shifted it up so that it's easier to access it.)

P.S.: To the NUS EE people, who can let me know what FYP topics they chose? GOt a big headache, the list of topics is like alien language to me.
